The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety began testing booster seats back in 2008 and they haven’t looked back since. Today, they’ve announce a 31-strong list of such devices upon which they’ve bestowed their highest safety rating, the so called “Best Bets”.

These devices are meant for small children that have outgrown their car seats but still aren’t as safe in cars as adults. They aren’t bolted down and don’t face backboards, but are designed to increase the level of children under 4 feet 9 inches to where the seatbelt is where it should be.

Of the 62 booster seats, a record 31 of them received the Best Bets designation, making them ideal choices for cars, minivans and SUVs.

The IIHS says that the products of Harmony Juvenile Products stood out, as all four were worthy of being named Best Bets.
